How to find out who owns a UK company
Search the company on the UK register (Companies House). Its people with significant control show who owns or controls more than 25%, and its officers show the directors.
- Search the company by name or number on the register's free search.
- Open People: the directors, and the people with significant control.
- Open Filing history: accounts, changes of directors, charges over assets.
- If another company owns it, repeat for that company until you reach people.
- Check The Gazette for insolvency notices, and Find Case Law for judgments.
What the register leaves out: what the press reports.
Or send the company's name and city to LightRay. In about 12 minutes: who owns it, who runs it, what it has filed, any court matters and its press. First three free.
