Disclaimer and limitations of liability

LightRay's reports are provided by LightRay Inc. and its affiliates ("LightRay") for information only. A report is a snapshot of information about the company it names, and the people and companies connected to it, as it stood on the screening date shown, drawn from sources such as registries, courts, regulators, the press and the company's own statements, which LightRay does not control and has not independently verified. Facts may have changed since.

Reports are prepared with automated research and analysis tools, including artificial intelligence. Like any such tools, they can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, including about real people, companies and facts.

A report is not legal, financial, investment, credit, tax, accounting or other professional advice, not a credit rating, and not a recommendation to deal or not to deal with anyone. LightRay provides entity-level information, not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or any similar law, and not a background check on any individual. A report must not be used, in whole or in part, to decide whether to employ, lend to, insure, house or extend credit to any individual, or for any other purpose those laws govern.

Court cases, regulatory matters, complaints and press reports are described as recorded, at the stage shown, and as allegations unless a final decision is stated. They are not findings of wrongdoing by LightRay. A party may dispute them, and they may since have been withdrawn, settled, overturned or decided in that party's favour. The readings, analysis, questions and suggested next steps in a report are statements of opinion, not statements of fact.

Names are matched with care, but a record may concern a different company or person with a similar name. Readers must confirm the identity of any party before relying on anything said about it.

Reports are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, LightRay gives no warranty or representation of any kind, express or implied, that a report is accurate, complete, current, reliable or fit for any purpose, that it meets any reader's requirements, that it has found every relevant matter, or that a matter it does not mention does not exist. Where a report repeats what a registry, court, regulator, the press or the company itself recorded or said, it reports it as found, and LightRay does not warrant the accuracy of that source.

Readers are solely responsible for their own decisions. Anything material must be checked against primary sources, and professional advice taken where it is needed, before it is acted on. No one may rely on a report as the only basis for a decision.

To the fullest extent the law allows, LightRay and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors and suppliers are not liable for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with a report, its use, or any error, omission or delay in it, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, including direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary and punitive damages and loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, reputation or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, LightRay's total liability for all claims in any twelve months is limited to the greater of the fees paid to LightRay in that period and one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

A report is for the person who requested it and those they share it with for the same purpose. LightRay may provide the same report to another user who asks about the same company. It must not be published or posted publicly. LightRay owes no duty of care to anyone who has not requested a report from it, and anyone else who reads a report relies on it at their own risk. Anyone who publishes a report, or uses it for a purpose these limits exclude, does so on their own responsibility. LightRay may withdraw, correct or update any report at any time.

Any company, including a reader's own employer or business, may be the subject of a report requested by another user. Names, trade marks and logos in a report belong to their owners, and their mention implies no affiliation or endorsement.

If you believe anything in a report about a company or person is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, tell LightRay through the feedback form at the end of the report, where one is offered, or write to hello@lightray.ai with the report's link and what you believe is wrong. LightRay will review it and correct or remove anything it finds inaccurate, and a company or person named in a report may send LightRay its response, which LightRay may add to the report. Feedback is optional and must be honest and lawful: nothing the sender knows to be false, nothing defamatory and nothing the sender has no right to share. Sending it does not change this disclaimer.

Documents a reader adds to a report are that reader's responsibility. The reader confirms they may share them, and LightRay does not warrant what they say.

Use of LightRay's reports and website is governed by LightRay's terms of use.
