What to check before you take on a new client
Check who owns and runs the client, what it has filed, any court matters and its press. Then check every name you find against your other clients.
- Find who owns the client: its shareholders, and who stands behind them.
- Find who runs it: its directors and officers, and their other companies.
- Read what it has filed: changes of directors, charges over assets, and accounts where it files them.
- Search the courts and the press for the client and the people behind it.
- Check every name you found against your other clients, for conflicts.
Keep a dated record: each check, where you made it and what it showed.
Or send the company's name and city to LightRay. In about 12 minutes: who owns it, who runs it, what it has filed, any court matters and its press. First three free.
